Present Day;
Welcome back guys, this promises to be another intense storytelling of the LSPD Series for the newcomers LSPD is an action and comedy story that takes you through a very fictional Lagos Nigeria where Kelvin Oladipo is caught up with the usually crime-fighting drama with his ever-resilient partner Remy Shino, there are so many twists and turns accompanied with some Easter eggs from movies you might have seen or joke references from real-life situations. This is the third release to the LSPD series; here is the link to the previous episode: https://joemarioadventures.wordpress.com/2019/11/05/l-s-p-d-the-crossfire/
If you are acquainted with that, let's forget all formality and get right in.
Duumm-duumm was the beat every pump of my heart gave, like a choking fume my lungs were invaded, lost in a short fuse of thought and subjected to a situation where every blink could be my last, the one thing I could think of was the blood splatter on my neck, echos impeded my hearing from the crash we just had, "kelvin I cried out", I got nothing but the harsh humid winds of Lagos, people running helter-skelter taking cover .
Lagosians:
Na them o!
Lagosian 2:

Lagosian 3:

Lagosian 5:
Where is my baby, I can't find my baby!
Lagosian 6:
Ahan Shami! See that blind man running; how!!! Ahhhhh he just jumped over a bike
Shami:

Lagosian 6:

Savage Lagosian:

Taking cover I heard Remy's outcry "Remy keep your head down, I am okay but the senator is dead; we are fucked. I am trying to spot the shooter."
Remy going ballistic "what do you mean the Senator is dead! This is the second high profile person that is dying on our account, we are in a deeper hole than we were last time"
Yinka's Phone rings, Remy answers "you green snake mother…."
Bursting out the car was Remy I stood up trying to follow him but the phone rang again then I thought to myself "did this nigga just leave the phone?"
Kelvin:
You set me up!
Mystery Man:
Again!
Kelvin:
Why don't you just kill me?
Mystery Man:
now where is the fun in that, besides you are still of use to me, I am sure your mother would miss you when you are gone, speaking of which the next voice you hear is hers.
Mum:
I am sorry dear, I would have stayed in the Philipines
Kelvin:
It's fine mum, every mother has the right to seek her son, I hope you are okay?
Mum:
I will be okay as long as you stay alive.
Kelvin:
I promise, I will get you out of there.
Mum:
I think they just……
Snatching the phone from her, the mystery man spoke to me "you have played your path now, survive long enough to pick Remy when he calls you, don't be late or he dies, after all, you guys are wanted for the death of two high socialites"
Over at St. Paul;
The receptionist landline rings,
Receptionist:
Hello this is St. Paul's front desk how may I help you?
Kelvin:
I need to talk to a man named Yinka now, its an emergency! He is in your hospital.
Receptionist:
Sorry who is this?Kelvin:
A man who desperately needs your help please I am begging
Over at Detective Nwosu's end;
Through the scope of the sniper "at a clean shot, I take him down sir"
Sniper to himself "steady, steady, steady, Got you!"
A wider view
The receptionist springs off her sit asking who was Yinka, responding to this Yinka moved as the speeding bullet from the pierced his forearm pushing him to the ground, chaos broke in the hospital with some civilians rushing out through the front door and others taking cover making it difficult for the police gaining access to finish off their job, leaving a line of blood track as he drags himself towards the front desk he screamed at the receptionist to hand him over the phone but she refused "Please I am begging you, if I die my blood is on your hand, do you want that?" she shook her head in disagreement sliding him over the phone.
Kelvin:
Yinka! Are you okay?
Yinka:
One of our own just shot at me, where is the senator?
Kelvin:
Dead, killed by an active sniper.
Yinka:
That explains the attempt on my life
Kelvin:
We don't have enough time to process all this.
Yinka:
That's the problem we let ourselves be pawns in his game.
Kelvin:
Gather as many hostages as you can, and prevent the police from gaining access to you.
Yinka:
Hostages! Really?
Kelvin:
Remy is in the wind, I can't afford to lose you too!! Remy needs us, wait out the police with the Hostages and no one would get hurt.
Yinka:
Come get me, partner.
Try to prevent the police from breaching my base I took in hostages rounding them up from children to the elderly followed by the residents of that area, this wasn't hard due to the organized database system kept by the hospital.
Yinka:
Can a doctor fix me up now?
A doctor stood up volunteering.
Yinka:
Good get your stuff and patch me up and do not use any form of pain killer or inject me with anything.
Doctor come around doing his part when he said with his eyes on his gun placed on a table beside him "this doesn't seem like you, let us go"
Yinka:
Doctor…..
Doctor:
Hassan is the name.
Yinka:
Doc, Hassan anyone, my human primal need to survive kicked-in the moment an attempt on my life was made, I see the way you are looking at my gun and I know what you are thinking. Let me enlighten you, I am not a killer but I wouldn't mind starting a count with you.
Hasan:
Thanks for the warning, so do you mean you are innocent?
Yinka:
Who runs into a bank with no back up saving the day, regardless of his life?
Hasan:
A mad man in this part of the world
Yinka:
So why would he now be doing this?
Hassan:
Because he is being set up by a mystery man
Quickly injecting him
Yinka:
What…owch,
Grabbing the Hassan by his neck, "what did you inject me with!!!!!"
Veins popping out his head Hasan struggled for words as he looked straight into the eyes of death "they were painkillers, you really needed them"
Yinka:
How did you know about the mystery man?
Hassan:
what mystery man?
Yinka:
You don't want to play games with me!
Hassan:
I swear I am not.
Losing the grip to his neck he coward back to his fellow hostages.
Child:
You are a monster, I hate you!
His mother grabbed him by the mouth apologizing on his behalf.
Hostage 1:
You self de do Doctor strange the man said do not inject him, you go do pass yourself.
Yinka: Enough everyone
A Knock was heard in the back room of the hospital lobby "knock! Knock! Knock!" that was their agreed decoy code, alerted to that Yinka grabbed a pregnant woman using her as a human shield as he backs up to the door.
Yinka:
I am deeply sorry but this is the only way.
Police Sniper;
"Sir there is movement he is holding a pregnant woman hostage I don't have a clean shot"
D.Nwosu:
Hold back if you miss it becomes a double casualty, dam you Yinka! Well played; somebody get to the bottom of this find out where that exit leads to
Officers:
The is a back route there leading to Eko hotel roundabout
D.Nwosu:
There will be traffic this time, so I am guessing they should be planning a boat escape, God bless Lagos traffic. Get everything we have on that water seal all the possible exits, operation shoot on sight has been activated.
Over At Yinka;
"Took you long enough," said Yinka
Kelvin shocked by Yinka choice of hostage "see what this day has turned us into; madam I ensure you you are perfectly safe we aren't taking you anywhere, for the sake of your unborn child, please corporate with us"
Yinka:
What's the plan now?
Kelvin:
They will be expecting us on the water because of Lagos traffic, I know D. Nwosu and how he thinks. I hope you aren't scared of heights
Moments Later;
In a Chopper
Yinka:
How did you pull this off
Kelvin:
Apparently one of the hostages we saved reached out to me believing our innocence
Yinka:
Mad o! So where to now?
Kelvin:
We stay up here till we get a call from Remy
Yinka:
What does Remy have to do with all these?
Kelvin:
I don't know, but when we the senator was killed he took off after that a got a call from our mystery man, he then gave me instructions to pick him up when he calls if not Remy dies.
Yinka:
But you came for me instead, that was a gamble
Kelvin:
Plus and minus if I didn't you would have been dead, a dead senator means dead us. Plus I know whatever he got Remy into wouldn't be a one-minute agenda, but whatever the case maybe we have a chopper now which means we are temporary off-grid.
Yinka:
Yet again you save my life, thanks g.
Kelvin:
Brothers watch over brothers.
Phone Rings;
"Kelvin you have 30 minutes to get me, I am at Charleston Memorial hospital" Remy Said
Kelvin:
What are you doing there; are you hurt?
Remy:
I just kidnapped the son of Senator Badmus, the police are unto me, I had no choice he has my infant child
Kelvin:
Wow! We are unto you too brother stay alive
I hung the call, instructing the pilot on where to take us.
Yinka:
Kelvin, If my theory is right based on the series of events that have taken place, I might know who our mystery man is.
Kelvin:
How is the even Possible?
A Story Within a Story "Mystery Man Revealed?"
I was nothing but a bloody civilian so they called me, powerless to the high and mighty in the society, you see I come from a country were anything goes, a country were I can be burnt alive for stealing a pinch of salt and a fellow man like me would be praised for stealing millions because he is in a position of power; how does that even work? 2013 was a rough year for me, it was the year I lost faith in what I thought was a great nation, but now I curse the day I ever thought good for this country.
I am Ikenna and this is why I am the man today;
I come from a family of four inclusive of both parents, we were a regular family, I would have said we are the middle class in the society but who am I kidding, that doesn't exist where I come from. My sister was my world, and everything the second reason I lived and stayed on the right track, I say was because she was brutally taken from me by the men who are meant to lead us and their tracks were carefully covered by those whose slogan says "the police is your friend" I guess friends only to those who can grant favors. It all began on the 21st of July 2017 when my mother was recently admitted in Charleston Memorial Hospital, she was diagnose of breast cancer, we barely had the income to foot the bill and at this point anything legal was doable as long as it brought cash, my sister offered to help, I insisted suggesting she kept out of this but to no avail as our conversation was heard by Dr. Rich; Dr. Rich at that time was a first-year resident in Charleston Memorial Hospital but he was the resident in charge of my mother, Rich was of the opinion I should allow my sister work, if I didn't realistically the burden would be too much for me to bear
Dr. Rich:
Gloria, that is your name right; what do you have in mind to do?
Gloria:
Anything basic and safe, I don't mind babysitting, housekeeping, salesgirl, product distributor, anything to get by and provide for my mum's bills.
Dr. Rich:
Well I can hook you up with a housekeeping job that pays well let's say a hundred thousand.
Gloria:
Forget tush name, who in this day and age is willing to pay a house girl a hundred thousand Naira?
Dr. Rich:
Well my father, Senator Badmus, I'll talk to him and tell him what's on ground and surely he would help.
Ikenna:
That is really thoughtful of you sir, if this works we are forever indebted to you.
Dr. Rich:
Call Doc Rich, Rich for short and you are welcome
Fingers crossed we waited for feedback from Rich, days turned to weeks but weeks not into months as he Rich got back to us with news on Gloria's employment.
Back at the hospital;
Dr. Rich: My father wants to meet with you Gloria, 6 pm today, sorry about the timing he is a very busy man.
Ikenna:
We understand and she will there by 6 pm, let's get an address.
Dr. Rich:
Not to worry that has been all sorted out, by 6 pm a driver would come to pick you up and take you to his place, security reasons, you know how all these things work.
Ikenna:
No we don't Rich we aren't politicians.
Gloria:
Excuse my brother Rich, he is just looking out for me. thank you for this opportunity.
Gloria turned facing Ikenna as soon as Dr. Rich left their premise " What's your problem bro? we need this job besides you can't protect me forever, I'll be fine I promise"
Ikenna:
I need to know where you are at all times.
With a huge smile and a playful spirit, Gloria said "don't worry after today you would know the location of where I work, it's just a matter of time, besides if anything happens to me you know who to hold responsible"
Ikenna:
Okay little one, safe.
Over at the Senators house;
It was nothing like I have ever seen before, the total ambiance of the house made me feel I was out of Nigeria, definitely, this was a big house to manage and now I truly understood the hundred thousand Naira Offer. Footsteps approached me falling down the steps, pace by pace it was the Senator. I quickly alerted myself to greeting him "Good evening sir"
Senator:
Yes Good evening, who are you and what are you doing here?
With so much fear in me, I froze speechless to a reply
Gloria:
Sir?
Senator:
I am just kidding, you must be Gloria, My son told You were interested in working for me, housekeeping he said.
Gloria:
Yes sir, that's the brief of it all
Senator:
Hmmm you are a pretty young lady and you speak fluent English I fancy that, how old are you?
Gloria:
20 sir.
Senator:
I see, you look way matured than your age, you are a full-blown woman already with the body you have.
Gloria:
Thank you, sir, I guess.
Senator:
O! don't worry I use to have a daughter she was about your age when she passed away, looking at you know it brings back memories.
Gloria:
Sorry to hear that sir.
Senator:
It's all fine step into my office behind you I will be with you shortly
He pointed to a door opposite the stairway
On getting there I opened the door seeing two men, this felt weird and gradually uncomfortable, my spirit wasn't flowing with whatever was to come next as my mind pumped out thoughts to me.
Gloria:
Good Evening, excuse me sir I was directed to this room be Senator Badmus
Senator Wasiru:
You must be Gloria Have a sit he would be with you shortly
Hon. Kunle Remi:
She will do
Senator Wasiru:
Yeah those long sexy legs uhmmm!
Gloria:
I will do?
Skeptical to the recent turn of events I popped off my chair attempting an exit when Senator Badmus blocks me into a tight grip, I tried fighting my way out but to no avail he was stronger than I was, struggles after struggles I managed to break free hoping for a quick engagement to the door when I was indulged to a thunderous slap startling me a bit, long enough for them to rip off my blouse, "Wow see that breast burst out to freedom" Wasiru exclaimed and In a sequential manner he was replied by Hon Kunle Remi "she is still a virgin, and her boobs, wow her boobs do not look like they have ever been touched" I begged in a weakened state as they ripped my garment bit by bit off till I was nothing but flesh and pant, I can still feel their hands on me as they had their way with me. I was soaked in a pool of my own blood, screaming and fighting to escape, I noticed Senator Badmus wasn't as physical as the others, and in that window of opportunity I desperately shoved him off making it to the door when I felt a rigid grip to my ankle flinging me headfirst to the ground. No girl imagines their first time to be like this, what was a job interview quickly turned out to what will be the death of me.
Senator Badmus:
Wasiru you killed her.
Hon Kunle Remi:
we have to hit her hard on the face, making it look like a petty robbery gone wrong.
Senator Badmus POV;
Well that makes sense I thought to myself as I called my guards instructing them to drop the body close to the Ojuelegba bridge
Senator Wasiru:
This is really bad, this cant swing back to us, I am going to run for presidency 2020.
Hon. Kunle Remi:
This is a secret that dies with us, I need a quick fact check in the family which she came from.
Guard:
Done sir, She comes from a poor background, her mother is diagnosed with cancer, probably has few months to live without treatment, that's why she's here. She has a brother named Ikenna, quite the rebel he was kicked out off military school and ever since he has been going from one job to another
Senator Badmus:
Doesn't seem to be much of a threat and if otherwise, we kill him too
Lasgidi Report;
Few hours after the body was dumped a blog named Lasgidi Report got information on what has just happened from an anonymous tip "Runs girl falls victim for human sacrifice, what a cold world we live in" other blogs "Ojuelegba crisis"
Ikenna! Ikenna! Ikenna! Your sister was just found dead beside Ojuelegba bridge She was brutally murdered and raped.
Ikenna:
Victor what are you saying I don't understand, Gloria is in senator Badmus house, she went for a job interview.
Victor sure of what he saw showed him blog pictures, wobbling to his knees he wiped "how can this be"
Crime scene;
No! No! Gloria! That's my sister I need to see her!
Police:
Sorry sir you can't pass the yellow tape
Detective:
Let him thru
Ikenna:
Thank you, sir, her body was moved, this isn't the initial crime scene.
Detective:
You seem to know much about this murder.
Ikenna:
She is my sister and I think I know who killed her.
Detective:
I am all ears.
Ikenna:
Senator Badmus.
Detective:
Let's get one thing straight, I am sick and tired of all you low life blaming your predicaments on the high and mighty in the society, what's a man like Senator Badmus doing with a girl like your sister?
Ikenna:
She went for a job interview to be a housekeeper the pay was a hundred thousand Naira.
Detective:
Let's say I believe you, where does the senator stay or where did this interview take place?
Ikenna:
I don't know.
Detective:
Please step aside and let me do my job.
Ikenna:
You aren't listening I have a witness!!!!!
Detective:
Mr. Ikenna please don't cause a scene or ill have my men arrest you for obstruction of justice and false accusation on a high-level citizen.
Detective point of view;
I got on the phone as soon as Ikenna left; "It is done, sir."
Senator Badmus:
Congratulations, that DPO sit is for you, Binta It is done thank you for your service.
Binta:
A wise chicken does not dance on the table of hungry men.
Ikenna's point of view;
Everything felt so fishy, I knew the only person I could trust now was victor, he was in the force too, he was someone with integrity.
Ikenna:
Something is up bro, I can feel it, please help me keep a close eye on that detective.
Victor:
Well I don't see him as a crooked cop but I owe you that much, I will be on it, man.
Ikenna:
Thanks.
Moving forward I had a flashback to the image I saw on Lasgidi blog, it was a picture of a man sitting down on a slouch, that same slouch I still see him sitting down on, this could only mean one thing I exclaimed alerting Victor "Guy you remember the picture on Lasgidi blog we saw two weeks ago about the lady with the big ass"
Victor:
Yes! But…..
Ikenna:
That same guy who was sitting on that slouch is still on that slouch, it's like he never moved.
Victor:
Which means he would have seen who dropped off the body
Ikenna:
Exactly!!!
We ran towards him, and seeing the force we came with he almost took his heels
Victor:
We aren't here to harm you, sorry we came at you like that, I am Sergent Victor I am with the LSPD, we are just here to ask you a few questions.
Homeless man:
I didn't see anything.
I interrupted Victor "My name is Ikenna, I am the brother of the victim what's your name"
Homeless man:
Yinka, I am deeply sorry for your lost, I wish there is something I can do but I didn't see anything.
Victor:
You sound educated, what are you doing on the street?
Yinka:
Do you work for the Lagos Times?
Ikenna:
I know you saw something! Please tell me.
Yinka:
Help! Help! Help! Kidnappers.
Avoiding a scene we left his sight, I knew he saw something, my confliction was why he wasn't speaking.
Ikenna:
Mad man! the death of my sister wouldn't go unpunished, Victor I promise you that even if it's the last thing I do.
Detective Point of view;
Evidence gathered from the crime scene needed to be eliminated, I couldn't trust anyone but myself and I couldn't do it myself it might risk exposure. What to do, I thought to myself till a light bulb glowed in me. I got out my phone calling a desperate man looking to join the force.
Remy Shino:
Hallo!
Detective:
Hello, is this Mr. Remy shino.
Remy:
Yes who is asking?
Detective:
LSPD, I have a package for you to deliver and the job is yours with an instant promotion to detective.
Remy:
Mount Zion! I am coming.
Cutting the call; a few minutes later he called back "sorry sir I didn't get an address"
Detective:
Ojuelegba fire service area.
Remy:
Okay sir I'll be right there.
On first briefing with Remy, I told him "This never happened, you are undercover your country is counting on you, can I count on you?"
Remy Shino:
Yes sir like 1,2,3.
Detective:
Just go.
Present Day (what's to come in LSPD)
Yinka:
Binta is my mother and from the looks of things this is payback for the sins we all committed earlier
Kelvin:
What are you saying?
Yinka:
A girl was killed, a fixer was paid, a homeless man kept shut, a mother was killed, promotions were made, a cop was killed and tracks were covered. Who is best to pay for the sins of LSPD and the politicians?
Kelvin:
The cover face of the LSPD
Kelvin's view;
And I thought to myself what am I missing?
This is only the beginning
I apologize for the delay in this story, it's been a long month and I tried to make this episode longer than the usual. this might the last release of LSPD this year, while you are at it please go follow @Neonamag & @Neona_pr on IG and expect more fun and exciting contents
